NEW ART COLLABORATION BETWEEN
SOFITEL FRANKFURT OPERA AND ALEPH ART GALLERY
As part of a unique art collaboration with Aleph Art Gallery, Sofitel Frankfurt Opera will present a carefully curated selection of international and regional contemporary artists in its elegant spaces starting in October 2024. The collaboration between the five-star superior hotel at Opernplatz and the Darmstadt-based gallery will span one year and include three exhibitions throughout this period. The first exhibition officially opened on October 9, 2024, at 7:00 PM with an exclusive vernissage featuring five international contemporary artists.
The collaboration between Sofitel Frankfurt Opera and Aleph Art Gallery merges the French art de vivre concept of Sofitel hotels, which celebrates joy of life and aesthetics, with the exceptional creativity of the participating artists. This symbiosis creates a unique setting for the art presentation and invites visitors to be enchanted by the creative atmosphere and elegant ambiance of the five-star superior hotel.
The participating artists include Sieglinde Gros, Elke Emmy Laubner, Stuart Lawson, and Karen Shahverdyan, whose impressive works are regularly showcased at international art fairs and are held in private art collections:
Sculptor Sieglinde Gros creates expressive wooden sculptures that captivate with their raw, archaic aesthetic and intentionally visible traces of craftsmanship. Her figures prompt reflection on human emotions and existence, reflecting a deep humanity.
Elke Emmy Laubner works as a painter and photographer at the intersection of digital imagery and traditional painting. In her works, she transforms photographic and media-based references into painted, surreal spaces that challenge our visual habits in the digital age.
British photographer Stuart Lawson captures the elegance and dynamism of ballerinas, athletes, and contemporary personalities in his images. His technique of translating movement into light and form brings out their aesthetic beauty and captures the magic of fleeting moments.
Karen Shahverdyan, a German-Armenian painter and graphic designer, masterfully combines traditional painting techniques with modern surrealist approaches. His works creatively question the boundaries between reality and fiction, captivating viewers with their layered symbolism and technical precision.
Aleph Art Gallery was founded in 2022 by entrepreneur Salomea Rathmann in Darmstadt. The gallery aims to serve as a bridge between different cultures, focusing on figurative, international art. Great emphasis is placed on ensuring that the artists represented express their free creativity through profound expertise in artistic techniques.
