BRAND NEW SELECTION OF THE MICHELIN GUIDE:
SOFITEL FRANKFURT OPERA AWARDED TWO KEYS AND IS THE HIGHEST-RATED HOTEL IN FRANKFURT

Frankfurt, October 10, 2024 – In the inaugural awarding of the MICHELIN Keys, Sofitel Frankfurt Opera was honored with two Keys, making it the highest-rated hotel in Frankfurt am Main. This classification signifies an “exceptional stay” and emphasizes the luxury aspirations of the five-star superior hotel at Opera Square in a special way.
The renowned restaurant and hotel guide, the MICHELIN Guide, introduced its new recommendation system in April of this year after revising its hotel selection. The system rates outstanding establishments in its portfolio with one, two, or three Keys, similar to its famous restaurant star classification. The rating is based on five criteria: architecture and interior design, quality and consistency of service, personality and character, value for money, and a significant contribution to the guest experience in a given environment. Keys are awarded based on anonymous visits from MICHELIN inspectors and are independent of existing labels, star classifications, or preset quotas. In Germany, the selection includes six 3-Key hotels, 36 2-Key hotels, and 80 1-Key hotels.
